Nigerian Coalition For Good Governance Commends Governor Adeleke On Osun Health Insurance Scheme

09/11/2023
Press Statement

The Nigerian Coalition For Good Governance, NC4GG, commends the Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke for onboarding of Pensioners on the Osun State Health Insurance Scheme.

The State Government, on Wednesday, 8th of November, officially launched the enrollment of 23,000 pensioners and 20,000 vulnerable into the Osun State Health Insurance Scheme.

It is also our understanding that the Osun State Health Insurance Scheme is connected to the National Health Insurance Agency, thereby making it possible for all enrollees to use their health insurance in Osun State and other facilities across the Nigeria.

This is highly commendable, as this scheme is to protect your health and give indigent citizens access to quality healthcare services for almost free.

With this, Osun State has joined a selected few States that has provided universal medical coverage for their indigenes.

A major benefit of health insurance is that it pays most medical and surgical expenses and preventative care costs incurred by the insured person in return for a monthly premium payment.

This takes the load of medical emergency off the shoulder of average citizens when the need arise, and you can get medical attention for yourself, your spouse and up to four children, almost for free when you enroll on the Osun State Health Insurance Scheme

We shall however encourage the State Government to embark on an advocacy campaign to all the corners of Osun State to educate every citizen on the benefits of joining up with the health insurance scheme.
