OSOGBO- 30/09/2024 - Osunstate.gov.ng
Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed surprise that a major town around Ifeland, Garage Olode, has had no power supply for the past 15 years, consequently directing the Ministry of Energy to take up the issue without further delay.
Governor Adeleke who recently passed through the border town was briefed by a group of indigenes named Imole political Alliance who narrated how the town and other adjacent villages have been without power supply in the last 15 years.
Expressing surprise at the report, the Governor called for a thorough investigation with the matter featuring at the last State Executive Council meeting.
According to the Governor, “we must do everything possible to restore power supply. The Ministry must interface with Disco and the Federal Ministry of Power to find a lasting solution.
“We must connect Garage Olode and adjacent communities to the national grid. The town is of critical importance being a major economic zone and a border town. We will explore all options”, the Governor noted.
As a preliminary step, the Governor has promised to visit the Federal Minister of Power in Abuja to discuss the completion of a major power project said to be almost 80 percent completed and which has been abandoned over contractual issues.
“I will write to the Minister ahead of my visit to Abuja. We must not allow the project to waste. If completion is almost 80 percent, then the Federal Ministry will be encouraged to ramp up efforts to complete the remaining phases.
“I am also directing the ministry to summon the distribution company covering the area. Let's hear from the discos. What are the challenges ? What can be done to restore power supply.
“I want to assure my people of Garage Olode and adjacent areas that our administration will break the jinx. We have done it for Obokun areas. We will repeat the feat for Garage Olode and others”, the Governor promised in a statement.

OBSTRUCTION / TAX EVASION: OSUN GOVT SEALS UP PREMISES OF SEGILOLA RESOURCES OPERATING LIMITED, A SUBSIDIARY OF THORS EXPLORATIONS
NEWS RELEASE
OSOGBO: 30/09/2024 - Osunstate.gov.ng
The Osun State Government has today 30th September, 2024 sealed up the business premises of Segilola Resources Operating Limited, following a Court Order permitting the State to distrain the company for various flagrant tax violations and failure to disclose fully the employees directly and indirectly involved in its business activities, obstruction of tax processes by failing to provide timely tax information and documents.
Segilola Resources Operating Limited is one of the major companies carrying out mining activities and mineral exploration in the State as a subsidiary of Thors Explorations Limited listed on London and Toronto Stock Exchanges.
After a series of demands, meetings, consultations, and engagements, the company still remained adamant and remorseless in its tax evasion and other violations. The Attorney -General of Osun State approached the Court and consequently obtained an Order of the Court to seal up the Company until the due sum calculated from 2019 to 2023 is fully liquidated into the Osun State Government Account.
The state notes with regret that while some companies make billions of naira in the state, especially in the mining sector, they are not ready to give the state its lawful dues.
While the issue of shareholding values due to the acquisition of Osun state interest in Tropical Mines is purely commercial, we will continue to hold the company responsible for all its actions.

How Late Owa Achieved His Developmental Wishes For Ijesha People - Governor Adeleke
NEWS RELEASE
OSOGBO - 28/09/2024- Osunstate.gov.ng
Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke has described the late Owa Obòkun of Ijesaland, late Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran as a legendary king who fulfilled all his developmental wishes for Ijeshaland during his lifetime.
The Governor stated this today when he paid a condolence visit to the members of Ijesha traditional council and elders at the Oba Adekunle Aromolaran Civic Centre, Ilesa.
Accompanied by all political office holders in Ijeshaland led by the State Chairman of the People's Democratic Party, Hon. Sunday Bisi, Governor Adeleke recalled how Baba (Late Owa) emphasized the importance of making University of Ilesa (UNILESA) a reality rather than an audio institution that the past administration wanted to make it to be.
The Governor also recollected how Baba expressed frustration over inability of successive administrations to dualise Palace/Brewery junction road, tasking Governor Adeleke to dualise the road during his lifetime.
"I promised Baba that those two wishes will be realized. It's on the strength of my agreement with Baba that I moved Unilesa from mere paper approval to a functioning University with over 90 accredited courses", Governor Adeleke told the Ijesa elders.
"Our Government not only provided the take-off grant for the new university, we equally commenced Infrastructural development of the university while I appointed a top-class Ijesha academic to lead the university.
“On the road dualisation, we again awarded the project to an Ijesha-owned company and on the day of the flag off, our late Baba, despite of old age told me he must witness the flagg off.
“At the flag off event, Baba expressed satisfaction that his lifetime ambition of getting the road dualised and actualisation of University of Ilesa happened during his lifetime."
"So, we're here to commiserate with Ijesha people. This is a celebration of the life of a legendary king who was actually my dance partner during the governorship of my late brother, Sen Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke.
The Governor assured Ijesha people that the State Government will be fully involved in the burial programme of the late Owa even as he charged them to ensure the emergence of a credible, learned and committed new king who will build on the legacies of the late Monarch.
Speaking earlier, PDP State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi recalled the love of the monarch for the progress and development of Ijeshaland, stressing that anytime late Owa talked to the Governor, it was always about the development of Ijeshaland
"I was there when Baba told Governor Adeleke that making UNILESA a reality and dualising Palace / Brewery junction road were his remaining life ambitions.
"On behalf of Ijesa people, we thank Mr. Governor for fulfilling the wishes of the late Owa by actualising the UNILESA and by launching the dualisation of Palace Brewery junction road."
He pleaded with the Governor to continue to remember his fatherly partnership with the late Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland by further expanding his support and love for the Ijesha people which he has always demonstrated even before assuming governorship.

Ajibola Bashiru is Behind News as Osun Gets Federal Award for O-Meal - Adeleke's Spokesperson
NEWS RELEASE
OSOGBO- 28/09/2024 - Osunstate.gov.ng
The National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Senator Ajibola Bashiru is either not abreast of national news or simply being mischievous when he accused the state government of canceling O-Meal.
Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed who made the assertion in response to a viral video of the APC Chieftain said Osun state was recently awarded merit prize by the Presidency for being the only state running the O-Meal programme after suspension by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
“The Senior Special Assistant to Mr President indeed came to Osun to convey the recognition. Osun was then selected by the Federal Government for a pilot study on O-meal, a study conducted by a UK based Consultant.
“How come the National Secretary missed that widely televised report? Is the former Senator also not aware that the current government has just concluded an interview for merit based recruitment of teachers? Has he also not read how over 2000 teachers got approved for continuous service to also fill up the manpower shortage?
“For the party scribe information, the replacement for O-Yes is Imole Youth Corps. The uniforms for the soon to be unveiled Corps are currently being produced by Osun tailors associations.
“We cannot be playing politics with everything as for now, Governor Adeleke has outperformed even those who spent four years in office under less than two years. The political class must mature to a stage to acknowledge the good work of the incumbent irrespective of political affiliations.
“Recently, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations ranked His Excellency amongst the Top Nine Performing Governors in Nigeria under its Reputation Perception index Governance Report. The rating by NIPR indicated that Governor Adeleke secured the high ratings because of his visionary and tremendous strides in transforming the state since assuming office through implementation of various initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, tourism, and youth development.
“I hope the APC scribe is aware of this. If not, he should google it alongside that of Champion and Vanguard infrastructure award for the Governor”, the Spokesperson was quoted as saying.

Infractions Bothering on Employees’ Taxes & Payment of Accrued Financial Considerations on Shareholding by Thor Explorations Ltd of UK (Thor) and its Subsidiaries
By Wale Bolorunduro, PhD and Prof Lookman Jumoda
(The subsidiaries are Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SRIOL or Segilola) & Segilola Gold Limited (SGL), Operators of Segilola Gold Project (SGP) by Osun State Government)
Today, Thursday 26th September, 2024, the Government of Osun State has no choice than to inform the Osun public about our findings on the Thor Explorations UK and its Segilola Gold Project operated by Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL or Segilola). SROL is a company, domiciled in Nigeria, that operates the Segilola Gold Project (SGP), located in Iperindo, Osun State Nigeria. SROL is a subsidiary of Thor Explorations Ltd.(Thor), United Kingdom, a gold exploration and development company, listed on both the TSX Venture Exchange of Toronto (TSX-V:THX) and AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange (AIM:THX).
It is appalling to discover non remittances of taxes deducted as PAYE taxes from its employees and that of the employees of its service providers/ operators, under the Personal Income Tax (PITA) and non compliance with the disclosure requirements under the extant law on taxation. The infractions, which cannot be tolerated for Thor, SROL and other associates in other jurisdictions are being perpetrated here, in Osun state. These include failure of Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROl) to remit, the balance on the 3.2 Billion Naira tax liability of the four (4) year (2019 - 2023 ) Interim assessment due to the State since 4th of July 2024 under the relevant tax law of the federation and that of the state as Pay as You Earn (PAYE) and the Withholding taxes (individuals) deductions, required to be remitted to the state(s) or federal under Personal Income Tax (PITA) and Company Income Tax (CITA).
Shirking of its statutory responsibility to provide within 15 days, the basic tax Information/documents to substantiate its dispute of the 3.2 billion Naira tax liability such as: (a) The official Gazette from tax authority permitting the 5% of mining accommodation as Benefit in Kind (b) Breakdown of the Operating Cost by vendors, stipulating Name of vendors, Cost, Type of services and the amount paid to vendors, The address of vendors, etc (c) Evidence of remittance of withholding taxes (d) Submission of the General ledger/ activity reports and trial balances to verify salary and nominal payroll. These documents have been outstanding since 11th July, 2024, despite the fact that the onus of proof is on the tax payer (SROL) according to Personal Income Tax Act (PITA). This is a deliberate attempt to delay payment and allegedly to evade taxes on direct and indirect employees, contrary to section 81(3) of PITA.
Non disclosure of all the service providers, operating in the same location and on the same Segilola Gold Project, who are providing services to SROL by direct or indirect recruitment and via outsourcing of employees. Thereby, allegedly hiding employees under these service providers and allegedly evading corresponding PAYE Taxes due to Osun state. While Sinic Engineering Ltd has been evasive, ATF Consulting Limited has failed to pay fully the 160 million Naira, undisputed interim tax liability Demanded by Osun state but rather paid partially 100 million Naira and abandoned the outstanding since August 26th,2024. The company, ATF has refused to pay for Business Premises levy, claiming they operate within Segilola’s premises. The progressive assessment established against the company, ATF has increased the tax liability to 436 million Naira as tax intel trickles in. Other operators such as Monurent Nigeria Limited, Deep Rock Drilling Services and CEFO Security Limited are yet to present themselves to Osun state tax authority and we can not find their records of self assessment as requested by the tax laws. These are clear violations of section 64 of CITA on the premises of Segilola Gold Project, operated by Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL) and a subsidiary of Thor Explorations UK.
The Governor would like to assure the public and the media that due process has been followed and in accordance with the extant laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Personal Income and Company Income Taxes. The Agencies of Government and their technocrats have carried out proper assessments; the review and meetings had been held to encourage Segilola and its associates to pay promptly, while the onus of proof remains with them, according to the extant laws on taxation.
Regrettably, the Company, SROL has engaged in subterfuge to allegedly evade tax by failing to disclose, fully, its service providers, using the same premises and their corresponding tax information required by the state for proper tax assessment of their employees, staff and labour. This has reflected in the delay and extra work that the government officials had to go through. An obstruction under section 97 of PITA. The State Government had no choice than to take action now, no matter how temporary or subtle, on the failure of the company to provide tax information on the 3.2Billion Naira, Four (4) year PAYE Assessment and withholding tax (individuals) remittance, on full disclosure basis to the Government since 11th July, 2024 deadline given to the company. Despite the fact that the burden of proof is on the taxpayer (Segilola), according to the Personal Income Tax Act (PITA); we have done our best. How Thor Explorations Ltd U.K with Disclosure requirement, mandated by virtue of its public listing on London and Toronto stock exchanges couldn’t rein in its subsidiaries and operators on its premises in Nigeria, is still a nightmare to the state government.
Also, it is unfortunate that Thor Explorations Ltd of United Kingdom listed on London and Toronto Stock Exchanges will allow its subsidiaries and associates on Segilola Gold Project to embark on an unholy structuring of their payroll, commercial activities without full disclosures of all operators, allegedly to evade the tax payments due to Osun state. We are alarmed that what cannot be condoned in other jurisdictions is being carried out by Thor Explorations, U.K and its operatives in Osun state. The various extant laws on taxes gives statutory power to states to collect taxes and levies on employees salaries and certain commercial activities without prejudice to The Minerals and Mining Act. Therefore, Osun state will do whatever is legal, no matter how temporary, it is to fulfill the statutory obligation of the government to Osun state citizens. We don’t want them out of Osun state but they must fulfill their obligations and responsibilities to Osun state.
In the same vein, but purely commercial, It was Segilola Resources Operating Limited that carried out strategic annihilation of Osun State‘s interest in the ownership of the Tropical Mines Limited (TML) in 2016 and the eventual Commercial transaction of Transformational Acquisition by Thor Explorations Limited (Thor) UK, without due financial considerations to Osun State. While other legacy co-shareholders of Tropical Mines Ltd got financial considerations for the Commercial Transaction, which includes Shares in Thor Explorations Ltd UK and other financial considerations; Osun state got nothing, based on our review of the transaction, which commenced in early 2023.
For the past twenty months, the company, Segilola has refused to honour its commitment to commence payments on the accrued financial considerations due to Osun state on the Transformational acquisition of Osun interest between 2016 and 2019. Even, when a tenor repayment plan payable over two years was offered by Osun state Governor to them to preserve the need to encourage the national and the state investment drives in the mining sector. The efforts and demand of Osun state to realize our claims, which is over 60 billions Naira in monetary value and Redeemable shares as financial considerations for acquiring Osun state’s interest in Tropical Mines Ltd have always been rebuffed by Segilola Operating Resources Ltd. At least four (4) meeting had been held with the Executive Governor, H.E Governor Adeleke and the CEO of SROL, Mr Segun Lawson in attendance and with promises made to commence payment. Only for the company to renege on its Promises and chose to go and misrepresent the state in Abuja, Ministry of Solid Minerals.
At the initial stage of our claims, in early 2023, Segilola said we were not entitled to any shares of Thor Explorations Ltd UK; it was after confronting them with facts and figures that they agreed that Osun state has bonus shares, which is 5.1million shares of Thor Uk. We have said, assuming we take that share allocation without conceding, what about other financial considerations given to other shareholders, Segilola has been evasive and whenever, they appear, they always direct Osun state to Tropical Mines Ltd (TML), a company, whose assets had been stripped by Segilola without “winding it down”. So how can TML take liability to pay Osun State, again?. Directing us to TML offends our collective sensibility as people with culture and dignity. It is the responsibility of Thor UK to return the values which ought to have been given to Osun State abinitio. As co-shareholder in Thor, UK. Osun deserves to treated with fairness, equity and without prejudice to our interest. Let no mischief makers, political oppositions especially Osun APC spin it, in their usual dirty way. Recovering Osun interest and encouraging a global company, (though a junior Miner) to treat its co-shareholder properly is proper under company law and in any jurisdiction. The fact that Thor has admitted a shareholding proportion, which is significant in the Legacy Company, Tropical Mines Ltd makes Osun state a significant shareholder.
All we are saying is that Osun state has capacity to de-convolute the complex structure employed to gradually, strip the osun state’s interest between 2016 and 2019. We know the roles played by various special purpose vehicles (SPVs) that were set up, including Segilola Resources Operating Limited , Segilola Gold Ltd and the eventual transformational acquisition by Thor Explorations Ltd, UK. Unlike the previous administration, we are not interested in selling Osun’s interests, which include the shares, partially redeemed, now and grudgingly so by Thor Explorations UK from the complex and multiple-convoluted commercial transaction. We will continue to pursue the cash considerations and others, due to Osun state, without loosing our dignity and without compromising our integrity.
The State Governor, H.E Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has met with the CEO of Segilola Resources Operating Limited, Mr Segun Lawson, severally and directed the commencement of the payment of claims due to Osun state, only for the company to go to the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals to mis-represent the issue, allegedly, to evade making good their commitment. Thor UK has listed Directors and ownership can be obtained from its Company Registrar, so for Osun APC members that are full of gibberish and cynicism, they can go and check, if Adeleke are in Thor Explorations UK, in any form, directly and indirectly. I can tell you for free; they were not involved in 2016, when the transformation was done, they were not involved between 2016 and 2019, when Segilola Gold Project, the Project company was packaged and made bankable.
The state under Governor Ademola Adeleke had made official submission in writing to the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals and other federal agencies on the commercial transaction of stripping Osun interest in the Tropical Mines Ltd and our claims, which has nothing to do with the operation of The Nigeria minerals & Mining Act, an exclusive right of Federal Government. During the last visit to the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals, to be specific, on the 15th of August 2024, the Federal technocrats including the Permanent Secretary and Directors of the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals agreed with Osun state contingent that we are free to make our commercial claims on such legacy interest and rights of the state under the shareholding of the legacy Tropical Mines Ltd, now complexly transformed as Thor Explorations UK. The current government of Osun state is not interested in chasing away Thor Explorations UK, out of Osun state or shut down Segilola Gold Project, No!! Governor Adeleke is clear headed and sincere on this; we will encourage them to improve on their business and operational practices, so as to become Senior Miner and bring values to Osun state as its co-shareholders. That’s what private companies do.
The amiable Governor of Osun state, HE Senator, Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has always said he is only interested in the collection of Osun monies for Osun developments and progress. He has also said he is not interested in the time wasting probe, required to determine the transaction that led to the stripping of Osun State‘s interest in the ownership of the Tropical Mines Limited (TML) in 2016, but rather, the Governor is focusing on the amount due in two parts as (a) financial considerations on the commercial transaction and (b) the taxes due to the state under Personal Income Tax Act (PITA) as PAYE and levies payable to states under the extant laws of the Federation and the state. We will not hesitate to petition the Securities Exchanges of Toronto and that of London for our claims and use our statutory power on PAYE collection.
Osun state will like to assure the public that all these amount due from Segilola have nothing to do with mineral rights under The Nigeria Minerals and Mining Act that are strictly under the legislative power of Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN), called The Nigeria Minerals and Mining Act. The mineral right over the mine is still intact as vested by the Federal Government and under the beneficiary of the Operating Mineral License (OML), I.e Segilola. We will try to avoid the diversionary tactics of Segilola, which is to place the Osun State Government in collision with the Federal Government through blackmail and mis-representation. We will continue to support the national drive to encourage investment in the solid mineral sector, especially in a responsible and sustainable manner, while protecting Osun state’s interest. Let Segilola pay the PAYE taxes and the accrued financial considerations due to Osun State, from the stripping of our interests in the legacy asset company, the Tropical mines Ltd (TML).
We have escalated our claims on Osun state’s shareholding interest to Thor Explorations Ltd UK, a publicly quoted company in London and Toronto stock exchanges. Our Expectation is that the Chairman of Thor Explorations UK will compel the Company Secretary and Segilola Resources Operating Ltd or its “Alter Ego” on the board of Thor to resolve the issues with Osun state by delivering our due considerations to us. That is the best global corporate governance practice, asking Osun state, a shareholder to wait again to do a meeting in another 30 days with Thor Explorations UK Board is tantamount to unfair treatment in a manner that is prejudicial to our interest and rights as shareholder. We salute the courage of our finding fathers, who invested Osun’s money and kept faith with the developmental works that enabled it to become an investible asset class.
As a responsible government we shall continue to monitor the environmental impacts of Segilola exploration, drilling, developmental and mining activities because Environment is under the concurrence list of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN). We will allow the Federal agencies to monitor this in line with its guidelines, while we expect Segilola Gold Project Operators to comply with the Osun state protocol on environmental impacts also. We have concerns in the area of high level of particulates in the air, possible acid drains from the waste rocks, etc. We have claims on environmental levy and we will soon publish our inspectorate report, once access is granted to the site.
Thor Explorations Unfair to Osun People-Prof Lookman Jimoda
Gentlemen of the press
We are here to inform the public on our findings on the Subsidiary of Thor Explorations Ltd United Kingdom, a company listed on Toronto Stock Exchange as an Exploration and Development company. The Subsidiaries are Segilola Operating Resources Ltd (SROL) and Segilola Gold Limited (SGL), operators of the Segilola Gold Project (SGP). The findings are on the unethical business practices, alleged tax evasion, sharp operational practices of using proxies, companies in their commercial activities of outsourcing employment, drilling, etc to parties that are not disclosed to the state government for environmental assessment and security documentation. These companies include
1. SINIC Engineering Limited
2. ATF Consulting Limited
3. Monurent Nigeria Limited
4. Rabaa Cleaning Limited
5. Deep Rock Drilling Services
6. CEFO Security Limited
The constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria has placed Environment under the concurrence list and we have assessed Segilola based on our protocol on Environment and on back duty rates that reflect economic cost escalations. They have resisted complying despite the extant laws that allow such levies (PITA and CITA). Apart from the levy, we have issues with particulate in the air, other pollutions, possible acid drains from the waste rocks.
We have complied the activities of these companies under the following, which shall be presented to you under/
(1) Taxes on Employees, Withholding taxes, etc
(2) Disclosure issues that bordered, allegedly on Tax Evasion, Security Documentation, Business Premises Levies evasion
(3) Failure to pay accrued considerations for stripping Osun State’s Interest in Tropical Mines Ltd, since 2016
(5) Environmental Development Levy
We have been on this for over eighteen (18)?months. We have engaged our consultant who will present our findings on this and why we need to take action.
The Life of the Iperindo Mine is 6 years and it has been operated for more than 3 years, without necessary income to osun. We know the annual production of gold from the project and what Osun is supposed to be making annually as government revenue that have not been coming since 2019, when it bacame bankable and the companies started building the camp.

NEWS RELEASE
Osun Government Goes after Segilola over Tax Evasion, Environmental Pollutions, Shareholding, Others
OSOGBO - 26/09/2024 - Osunstate.gov.ng
The Osun State Government has raised serious concerns about the operations of the Segilola Gold Project, managed by subsidiaries of Thor Explorations Ltd, a UK-based company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
According to Prof. Lukman Jimoda, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Mining and Mineral Resources, the state’s investigation revealed various unethical business practices, including alleged tax evasion, use of proxies, and failure to comply with environmental rules and regulations.
The companies involved—such as SINIC Engineering, ATF Consulting, Monurent Nigeria, and others—are reportedly engaged in outsourcing employment and operations to undisclosed third parties without proper documentation or environmental compliance.
Prof. Jimoda highlighted that the federal constitution places environmental oversight under the concurrent list, allowing the state to assess companies' operations for economic and environmental impacts.
He emphasized that the Segilola project, despite its significant production since 2019, has resisted complying with extant laws like the Personal Income Tax Act (PITA) and the Company Income Tax Act (CITA) which govern tax levies.
He also expressed concerns over pollution, including particulate emissions and possible acid drains from waste rocks, which pose serious environmental risks to the state.
The state government is therefore demanding the payment of accrued taxes and environmental development levies, as well as proper documentation for all involved parties.
The Special Adviser stressed that Osun has not received its due revenue from the Segilola project for over three years, despite its bankable gold production since 2019.
"The government is prepared to take necessary actions to ensure compliance and safeguard the state’s environmental and economic interests", the Special Adviser noted.
Also speaking, the Financial Consultant to the Office of Mining and Mineral Resources, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro while presenting his report said the allegations against Thor Explorations Ltd and its subsidiaries mark a significant moment for Osun State, as the government seeks to reclaim its financial rights and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Dr Bolorunduro highlighted the state's concern over the company's alleged tax evasion and failure to comply with legal requirements, which could have severe financial implications for Osun.
Dr. Bolorunduro's detailed statement paints a picture of a company attempting to sidestep its fiscal responsibilities, with far-reaching consequences for the state's revenue.
"The refusal to remit taxes from both direct employees and service providers, as well as the evasion of other financial obligations, highlights a deeper issue of corporate governance and transparency.
Particularly troubling is the claim that Osun State's interests in Tropical Mines Ltd were strategically diminished without due financial compensation, raising questions about the fairness of the company's practices in Nigeria versus its compliance with international standards in the UK and Canada, where it is publicly listed". Dr. Bolorunduro stated.
Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration has emphasized the need for due payments to be made, while also ensuring that business operations continue smoothly. This balanced approach underscores the state’s willingness to foster investment, but not at the expense of its fiscal health or integrity.
Responding to the allegations that the Adeleke Dynasty is involved in the management of the Segilola Gold Project, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi denied the report, noting that those holding a stake or the other in the gold firm areas shortchanged the Osun state government.
He therefore assured members of the public that the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke will not relent in efforts to ensure that the state gets its dues from all companies operating in Osun State.

Adeleke's Health Initiative Has Improved The Wellbeing Of Pensioners In The State.
Adeleke's Health Initiative Has Improved The Wellbeing Of Pensioners In The State.
The Adeleke-led administration's choice to include elderly residents particularly the pensioners in Osun State in the state's Health Insurance Scheme has been a significant decision that has greatly influenced public healthcare. The governor has relieved and restored dignity to some susceptible individuals in the state by guaranteeing that they are not required to cover any medical costs through the initiative. His dedication to social welfare and deep comprehension of the elderly's needs is demonstrated in this gesture, as they have devoted their crucial years to the state's progress but often struggle to afford medical care in their later years.
Before this program, numerous retirees in the state experienced serious health issues because they couldn't afford regular healthcare or treatments. Frequent issues like high blood pressure, low sugar levels, and strokes were seen in this population, often exacerbated by a lack of essential medications and healthcare services. Without the financial resources to prioritize their health, they lived in fear of falling ill, knowing that they would be unable to shoulder the burden of medical bills as their pensions and gratitudes were being held by the government. However, Governor Adeleke has filled this healthcare system gap by providing a safety net for senior citizens.
The choice to waive the minimal 10% contribution for pensioners, which other citizens are required to pay under the scheme, is both compassionate and strategic. It guarantees that retirees can receive medical treatment without any hesitation or anxiety about expenses. This has resulted in a tremendous surge in engagement, with more elderly individuals now coming for their medical examinations and treatment. A lot of people are now getting treatment for illnesses they used to overlook because of financial constraints, and there has been a notable enhancement in their health.
Over the past few months, following the implementation of the program, medical officers statewide have observed a notable improvement in the overall well-being of retirees. Routine checkups are now common, and elderly individuals, who were previously overwhelmed by untreated illnesses, now confidently visit medical facilities with smiles, knowing they will be treated without financial concerns. Many older citizens have had their spirits uplifted by this initiative, and their gratitude towards the state government is noticeable.
The Governor has demonstrated that governance is not just about grand infrastructural projects; it also includes policies that directly impact the lives of people, particularly those in the twilight of their years. By making the health of pensioners a top priority, the governor has demonstrated a commitment to valuing human capital and ensuring no one is neglected in his administration's efforts for advancement and growth.
For healthcare providers in Osun State, this initiative has been a blessing. It has enabled doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel to do their jobs without the emotional strain of seeing patients who cannot afford treatment. Now, medical professionals are not just treating illnesses but are actively contributing to the improved quality of life for retirees. The positive feedback from the pensioners themselves is heartwarming, and it fuels the commitment of healthcare workers to continue offering their best services.
This health insurance scheme has a broader impact on the entire sector of health in Osun. This has had the direct impact of reducing the financial crunch faced by pensioners due to emergency health crises and thus prevents unnecessary crowding at hospital emergency wards. Preventive healthcare, facilitated by regular checkups, has reduced the need for more intensive and expensive treatment that arises from neglected health conditions.
The Governor should be praised for recognizing the need to implement this program. Such a move is unprecedented, and at a time when the elders are marginalized, this initiative put them at the heart of state health policy, an action in consideration of empathy and love, essential but often forgotten values in governance. The governor has not only addressed the pressing healthcare need but also elevated the spirits of senior citizens to ensure that they are not left behind.
A healthy pensioner is not only an asset to the state with lowered health emergencies but also relieves pressure on the system. This preventative approach to healthcare ensures that resources are used more efficiently and that the state can focus on maintaining a high standard of care across all demographics.
This bold initiative was made possible by the astute leadership of Governor Adeleke, who grasps the intertwining relationship between health and human function. This has even helped to ease the health burdens of pensioners which should also contribute positively to their state of mind. The comfort of mind that comes with knowing one's health is catered for has no price tag or zero fears of falling ill and there are indications that this has translated to joy, sound senior citizens in Osun State.
Furthermore, the ripple effect of this program is clear in the pensioners' families. Children and relatives, many of whom bear the responsibility of caring for their elderly parents or relatives, are now relieved of the financial burden that comes with constant medical bills. This has enabled them to concentrate on other areas of their lives, with the assurance that their loved ones are being looked after by the state government.
This program showcases what is possible when government policies prioritize the welfare of the citizens. The governor has shown that leadership means serving others, and his administration remains dedicated to inclusive governance. The enrollment of senior citizens in Osun State's Health Insurance Scheme and covering all their medical costs is a wonderful and caring program.

Why we closed Oluode market - Mayowa Adejoorin discloses
As part of the efforts of the state government in making sure Osun is free from any disease, the ministry of environment and sanitation sealed off Oluode market in Osogbo, the state capital.
This, according to the commissioner for environment and sanitation, Mayowa Adejoorin, happened for not complying with sanitation law, by not making the environment neat.
The market was sealed off for twenty four hours before it was unsealed after a fine had been paid by the marketers, as they promised to abide with sanitation law.
Speaking, the General Manager, Osun Waste Management Agency, Mr F.O Oyewole said the agency is working assiduously in making sure Osun remains a clean state, stating that whoever caught dumping refuse indiscriminately shall be dealt with according to the law.
"As you can see that we just unsealed Oluode market after the leadership of the market has promised to continue to abide by the sanitation law, by making sure the environment of the market remains clean at all time.
"I told them that the ministry will not hesitate to seal the market again if they fail to comply with us.
In his reaction, the commissioner for environment and sanitation, Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin noted that those who are still dumping refuse indiscriminately will soon be arrested and punished accordingly.
"The closure of Oluode market is just a message to other market users who doesn't clean their environment that very soon, we will get them and their market will be sealed off.
"The government is trying in its effort by making sure we don't register any disease in our dear state. Just recently, virtually all the states in Nigeria experience cholera disease, it it was only Osun who doesn't register any case. This was made possible due to the proactiveness of the state government. People need to support the government in this regard.
"Dumping of refuse on water ways are inimical to our healthy living as this is capable of causing flood. People should desist from this act.", the commissioner noted.

UNIOSUN Remains Top Priority of Our Government - Governor Adeleke
UNIOSUN Remains Top Priority of Our Government - Governor Adeleke
It is with great pride and high level of joy that I welcome you all to this blessed occasion of the 14th Convocation Ceremony of Osun State University. Today is, no doubt, a day of ceremony, a clear indication of the successful completion of yet another academic session by this enviable citadel of learning. I therefore rejoice with the Governing Council, Management and entire staff and students of Osun State University for your focused commitment to achieving the aspirations of the university founding fathers.
I must thank our prestigiously esteemed Chancellor, Apostle Dr. Folorunso Alakija, most sincerely for your love, not only for Osun State University but for humanity at large. You demonstrate constant love for humanity through selfless philanthropic gestures. I had the privilege of paying a thank-you visit to you in Lagos on Thursday May 16, 2024 and I was deeply moved by your warmth and generosity.
I must confirm to you once again, that I am personally excited that the world class hospital you and your great family have graciously donated to the University is now almost fully completed. All equipment and engineering installations are nearing completion. As part of our appreciation and complementation of this edifice, we have taken up the construction of a dual-carriage access road to the Hospital from the main road. This is scheduled for completion before the end of next month. I also assure you that the State Government will work with your great family to ensure an excellent, well organised and well publicized commissioning of the project at a time you deem most appropriate, soonest. Please accept the appreciation of the Government and good people of Osun State for your benevolence in this regard.
I must commend the Governing Council of this University under the leadership of Professor Wale Oladipo for the high-quality leadership and visionary guidance the Council is fostering in this University. I thank you for ensuring that UNIOSUN is forging ahead in spite of the globally socio-economic realities. That the University can hold its convocation for the 2023/2024 academic session under the current economic realities indicates the University’s commitment to the business of teaching and learning.
I have noted that UNIOSUN has established a “no-strike” “no aluta” tradition, and it is these that keep the University up when other schools are down. This culture of no strike and no aluta does not in any way presuppose oppression or dictatorship. Rather, it is an indication of good leadership at all levels of the University governance. Permit me to also specially acknowledge and commend the Management of this University under the leadership of Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye as Vice-Chancellor. I note the spirit of purpose, unity and commitment with which the Management team has always worked together. I equally note the quality of leadership and sense of direction with which the Vice-Chancellor has been piloting the affairs of the University in the last three years. If you have a University with six (6) campuses with ongoing massive constructions in spite of the limited financial resources, then we must give kudos to the Vice-Chancellor.
Earlier today, I commissioned the Late Sen. Isiaka Adeleke Anatomy Complex on this Campus. On the same Campus too, a state-of-the-art multi-storey Senate Building, right opposite this Auditorium, is under speedy construction. Others include the University’s Faculty of Computing Building, 500-Capacity Lecture Theatre and a 3-in-1 Laboratory Complex that can accommodate 1,500 students at a time. I attribute the massive infrastructure expansion and increasing student population to visionary leadership, innovative resource mobilization and prudent and transparent financial management. It may interest this august gathering to note that the Government of Osun State conducted a special audit investigation into the finances of the University just last year. I read the report of the Audit Team and felt very happy and proud of the leadership of this University.
I admonish the Vice-Chancellor and other leaders of the University to keep the spirit of transparency, accountability and value for money on, as I assure you of increased Government support to ensure unhindered progressive development of the University. As a government that places the welfare of its people at the forefront of its agenda, we have consistently ensured that we support and stand by this University to achieve its vision and mission. We understand the vital role that this institution plays in the development of our state, and we are committed to supporting it in every possible way.
Our government has demonstrated serious commitment by granting various approvals. In the last one year, we supported the University to complete a long abandoned office complex at the Isale-Osun Campus to meet the University’s requirements for health related programme accreditations. We have also supported the University towards the construction of its ultra-modern Anatomy Complex which we commissioned earlier today. We have also prioritized the construction of roads leading to the student area at Sasha market and other campuses of our University. In line with our commitment to the welfare of our citizens and the development of education in Osun State, we have approved the implementation of a 25% and 35% salary increase for all teaching and non-teaching staff of this University. We paid a year's arrears promptly to the staff members. We have also paid palliative allowances to all workers, and we are currently working on the modalities for the implementation of the newly approved minimum wage. We understand the challenges imposed by the removal of fuel subsidies, and I want to assure our staff that we are not oblivious to their struggles. We are doing everything within our power to mitigate the impact on your lives. We remain committed to ensuring that you receive the support you all deserve, within the limits of law.
I wish to also reiterate that the State Government restates its full confidence in the Governing Council and Management of this University. As such, the Government is in full support of Council’s decisions on all staff welfare matters. I wish to state, however, that staff members of the University should not take this liberty for granted, and should not, under any guise, political or ideological, seek to foment trouble over any welfare matter that has been closed by the Governing Council of the University. The Council takes decision within the provisions of law. To all staff and students of this University, I charge you to remain steadfast in your responsibilities and continue to serve your motherland with dedication. The progress of this citadel of learning can only be sustained through a peaceful and harmonious environment. Let us avoid unnecessary rancor and acrimony. Instead, focus on the common goal of advancing this great institution.
To the parents and guardians gathered here today, I urge you not to completely let go of your children as they step into the next phase of their lives. They remain your future, and your guidance will be crucial as they navigate the challenges ahead. Encourage them to further their education if possible and to apply the knowledge they have gained here to solve the pressing problems in our society. Encourage and support them to be problem solvers, not just problem identifiers or problem creators. Their education should be a tool for positive change, and I am confident that they will rise to the occasion.
To our happy graduates, today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. As you step out of these hallowed halls, I want you to remember that the world is in need of your talents, skills, and innovative ideas. Be courageous, be resilient, and above all, be agents of change. Whether you choose to further your education, join the workforce, or even enter the realm of politics, do so with the aim of making a positive difference. Our nation needs bright minds like yours to steer it towards a brighter future. I strongly believe you can!
I wish you all success in your future endeavors. May you go forth and shine as proud ambassadors of Osun State University and of this great nation.

Yemi Shodimu: How Segun Showumi Replies Bigoted Osun APC
PRESS STATEMENT
OSOGBO- 19/09/2024
The attack on ace broadcaster Yemi Shodimu by the Osun chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) demonstrated the opposition's marriage to unpopular opinion at a time Governor Ademola Adeleke's popularity rating was climbing to almost 90 percent.
Spokesperson to Governor Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed in a response to the state APC said Otunba Shodimu only repeated a popular opinion about the extraordinary performance of Governor Adeleke under two years in office, counseling the state APC to conduct urgent divorce with unpopular opinion.
Rasheed who said another national figure, Otunba Segun Showumi had a few weeks ago conducted an unsolicited visitation to Osun to actually verify what the opposition called media hype, noting that Showunmi’s verdict answered the state APC and other naysayers.
“For Osun APC that disputed Shodimu verified attestation about Governor Adeleke's great performance, Otunba Showumi’s testimony is a perfect response as quoted below:
“Gov Adeleke is up to something great in Osun State. I spent three solid hours going around osun project sites this morning. Gov Adeleke is doing phenomenal development works across Osun state. I took pictures and conducted on the spot interviews. Within the Ede/Osogbo axis. I left with my mouth agape and truly wowed.
“It is either the governor wants others to sleep while he springs a transformational repositioned Osun for to see what is on ground is to be amazed at so much in less than two years.
“I did this for my personal conviction, for I don’t like those who play politics with development or just do media propaganda with nothing on ground. I had seen ife for I spent time on Mount Carmel at Ifewara to pray on my way to Ede. I saw the bridge coming up with Ife township. To develop our country we must develop the states.
“To the willing and inspired so much is possible. Governor Ademola Adeleke will change the landscape of Osun, no doubt about it. All sons and daughters please join hands with him to contribute your quota. I have formed the habit of not judging the book by its cover, this is one of the virtues passed down unto me by my parents, which compelled me to do thorough research before airing my views on issues.
“Many people are not aware of the reason behind my fair judgment, it is because I will not jump into conclusion without diligent appraisal of the situation. Honestly, I was not expecting much from the Governor of Osun state in terms of projects, because the best the media has been projecting about him was just his Davidic nature, the dancing swag.
“With little hope, I asked one of his men to show me Governor Ademola Adeleke's projects in the state, then what I saw wowed me. I cannot believe the direction at which the Governor is tilting the development of the state to, he has monumental on-going projects which has great capacity to influence the living standard of the people positively.
“At some points, I got lost because when you get much from where you have little or no expectation, you are likely to suffer what is called momentary freezing.
“I was expecting little, I got more than expected, I anticipated less, my curiosity was abundantly satisfied, Governor Ademola Adeleke without doubt has again confirmed to me that, men are nurtured by nature and their family backgrounds, the excellence of the Adeleke's family has rubbed positively on the government of Osun state,
“I hope the Governor will remain focus to dot the (i)s and cross the (t)s and not be distracted by political opportunists”, Otunba Showumi had narrated as widely published in the media.”

Governor Adeleke Hosts Ife Devt Board, Says Ile Ife Deserves Flyovers, Dualized Roads & More
NEWS RELEASE
OSOGBO - 16/09/2024 - Osunstate.gov.ng
Governor Ademola Adeleke has decried the low physical and infrastructure development of Ile Ife, the cradle of Yoruba people, declaring that the source of Yoruba race deserves total upgrade in terms of flyovers, dualised roads and upgraded facilities befitting the cultural capital of Yoruba people.
Hosting a delegation of Ife Development Board at the Government House on Monday, Governor Adeleke said the low developmental outlook of the ancient city is not acceptable to him and his team, hence the decision to commence massive upgrade starting with the Lagere flyover and the dualisation of the road leading to the palace.
He justified his administration's decision to change the face of Ile Ife on the ground that the ancient city cannot continue to look like a village when global visitor comes calling, affirming that Ile Ife is too important to remain low rated in infra outlook.
Governor Adeleke, accompanied by his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi told the visiting dignitaries that Ile Ife is not only the cultural capital and source of all Yourba people but also the global tourism and religious base of Yorubas in North America, South America and other parts of the world.
Thanking the Ooni of Ife and other Ife leaders for supporting him on the ongoing flyover and dualisation projects at Ile Ife, the Governor said aside the cultural and tourism factors, the economic case for the Lagere flyover has been well canvassed as the junction is the meeting point for business interaction from Osun West, from Ilesa and from Ondo through Garage Olode.
“Our administration is committed to completing the flyover as well as the dualisation of the road leading to the Ooni palace. I want to be recorded in history as the Governor who transformed Ile Ife into a modern cultural and tourism city”, the Governor told the leaders.
On the requests for rehabilitation of some other roads at Ile Ife, the Governor assured that the list would be forwarded to the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure for addition to the list of roads scheduled for reconstruction and rehabilitation.
He promised that the request for expansion of the dualisation to Ilesa Garage will be evaluated for further action by the technical team.
On security, he assured the Ife Development Board that his administration is already reforming the state's Amotekun security service as a bridge between local communities and the federal security services.
He explained that local vigilante and forest hunters would henceforth be working with Amotekun service and other formal security agencies to secure Osun cities and rural areas.
On the need for further action on the agricultural sector, the Governor informed the delegation that the state government will soon unveil an AFDB supported agricultural processing zone to be located at Ile Ife.
Speaking earlier, the President of Ife Development Board, Mr Gbenga Adefaye, commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for his development strides in Osun state and particularly at Ile Ife, listing requests touching on road expansion, security and agriculture.
He reiterated that “Ile-Ife is our collective heritage. It deserves more than passing attention. As the ancestral home of all Yoruba both here in Nigeria and in the Diaspora, we all owe ourselves the duty to transform it and make it more amiable, more welcoming as the poster place for all proud Yoruba”, Adefaye told the Governor.
Governor Adeleke subsequently directed the Deputy Governor to ensure follow up on the meeting to ensure sustainable partnership between the state government and the Ile Ife Development Board.

Hon Kazeem Akinleye: Group Threatens Court Action Against Fake News Merchants
A socio-political pressure group, Osun Democrats for Democracy (ODD), has threatened to press defamation and libel charges against those spreading fake news about the Chief of Staff to the Osun State Governor, Hon Kazeem Akinkeye over over a contract awarded to Akinkas Nigeria limited by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Àràkunrin James Bamgbose, the group affirmed that any group or platform that persisted in spreading fake news against the Chief of Staff should be prepared to defend its offensive publication or post in the court of law.
According to the group, two senior Legal practitioners have been engaged to find out the identities of those spreading the fake news and charge them to court with a request for damages to the tune of Five Billion Naira (N5 Billion).
“Our intervention in this matter stems from what we know about the Chief of Staff and the said company. We can affirm that Hon Akinleye was a rich contractor long before he was appointed Chief of Staff to Governor Adeleke. He is a businessman with interests in various sectors of the economy.
“As a law-abiding citizen, he resigned his directorship from the company before he was appointed a Chief of Staff. He also complied with ethical requests by avoiding contract solicitation or influence peddling for the said company or any other ones in line with requirements of the law.
“After his exit from the company, the new directors took over its affairs, running ongoing and new contracts across federal agencies. As of 2022, the said company has been in operation for 15 years with high-profile jobs at several federal agencies and ministries such as UBEC, TETFUND, REA, NEPZA and several others.
“Are critics saying the company should fold up because Hon Kazeem is the Chief of Staff? Is a company with such a profile banned from further operation at federal level because a former director is a Chief of Staff at the State level? Is Hon Kazeem a board member of TETFUND of Uniosun?”, the group queried.
Affirming that the Chief of Staff has complied with the requirements of the law and we challenged those spreading the fake news to be ready for defamation lawsuits.
“ We also note with anger a publication by another faceless group levelling so many unfounded allegations including a postulation that the Chief of Staff is milking the mining sector as a board member on the state mining board. This is another lie for which we are currently tracking those who signed the release to come and provide evidence on the allegation.
“ The state government is implementing mining reforms for which the expertise of the Chief of Staff has helped the state in many ways. Hon Akinleye has not been paid a dime and has never collected a single kobo for his service in supporting the drive to sanitize the mining sector.
“When we are done with unmasking members of those faceless organizations, we will take appropriate legal actions against them as well as the medium and platforms used for the spreading of the fake news”, the group posited.
The Democrats for Democracy posited that those attacking the Chief of Staff are those without jobs and verifiable means of livelihood, hence their attacks on a successful businessman who complied with the law before holding public office.
“Our patron, Hon Akinleye, was not a jobless politician before he assumed office. He is well-to-do and a successful. We will deploy the law to punish peddlers of fake news”, the group warned.

REMARKS AT INVESTMENT SUMMIT
PROTOCOLS
It is my pleasure to be here to personally attend the conclusion stage of this investment summit. I was glad I virtually reached out to this summit when it started. My deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi also did a good job representing me at the opening session.
Now I'm here to say thank you to all guests and investors, both locally and internationally. As you can see Osun is open for business.
Several speakers have pitched Osun to potential investors. I'm however the Chief marketer of Osun economy and her potential. As a businessman myself, Osun is no doubt a destination of choice.
I read Aree Dele Momodu's presentation where he robustly promoted the Osun case from the perspective of an investor. That brilliant submission and many others correctly paint the reality of Osun state. This is a state where robust policy framework and enabling environment combine with buoyant local economic resources.
Our agenda to industrialize Osun is not a joke.We are multitasking on various fronts to achieve that goal. This investment summit is a first step. There will also be a future investment summit which will directly involve development partners, donor agencies, global leaders of the private sector, multinational companies and investment arms of western and Asian governments. An inter-ministerial panel will soon be put in place to work on this next phase.
I commend the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry alongside his team for organizing this summit. This has placed Osun on the map of the business community. I expect detailed reports listing sectors for which investors have shown interest.
Once again, I thank all participants. Help spread the news-Osun is ready for business.

WHY OSUN IS ENTICING TO INVESTORS - AARE DELE MOMODU
Osun State is the cradle of Yoruba nation, the heartland of South Western Nigeria. This is the cultural capital of highly developed Yoruba people with descendants in South and North America;
Osun State is an economically and educationally rich state, boasting of huge solid mineral resources, highly literate population, heavy multiple University presences, varied agricultural potentials and a billion dollar developing cultural industry;
Osun is an unusually peaceful state within a turbulent but extremely great nation, a state that accepts non-indigene with open arms and support non-native business ventures and activities with native hospitality and patronage;
Osun is a natural tech hub of the Federation as its sons and daughters dominate the tech innovation world and with the state already building a digital economy to tap into the acknowledged talents of young Osun tech enthusiasts;
We are all gathered here to drum up support for inflow of investment into a state with an ambitious Governor, a widely traveled leader and a 21st century manager who is positioning the state as investors’ first choice within the comity of states;
My pitching Osun today is not out of mere filial affiliation. I am Osun and Osun is me. But it is more than that. The case for Osun as an investment destination is strong and evidence based;
The state possesses a rich investment landscape across the sectors. From agricultural to mining processing to digital economy, the state of the living spring confronts potential investors with enticing possibilities. From the richly, European like Owalla dam for inland beach resorts to the mesmerizing Erin Ijesa waterfalls to the multi-billion dollar cultural assets, there is no better place to invest that Osun;
Beyond the natural investment potentials, I review trade logistics and I am confronted with appealing reality. One is the national railway line that traversed the heartland of the state. Then I saw the government masterplan for an international airport with a cargo terminal integrated alongside a free trade zone;
Free trade zone? Yes. Airport of international standard? Yes. Railway link directly to Apapa port in Lagos? Yes. Trade logistics and connectivity are top notch;
What of internal infrastructure? Osun as a highly urbanized city is implementing a multi-sectoral , multi-billion naira infra upgrade across health, education, roads , water and environmental sectors. The major towns are construction sites alongside huge construction ongoing across the local governments to enhance rural - urban connectivity;
As an investor, the destination is not ripe by possessing all the above. There must be something else which can actually tip the balance of decision making;
Are there legal frameworks? Are there policy frameworks for the various sectors?
Again, Osun beats all limitations with the state Governor running a battle of policy coverage for the state economy. From November 2022 to date, my investigation showed that the state has successfully established state policies covering several critical sectors;
Aside the state Industrial Development Policy, Osun now has a state ICT policy, State Tech Innovation Policy, State Electricity Market policy, State Transport policy, State Mining policy among others ;
Investors thus have nothing to worry about in the area of policy frameworks. In many cases, the policies are being transformed into actual state legislations. This deepens assurance frameworks for investors;
One of the biggest unique selling points for the state aside from all the above rare features is the Adeleke family, a dynasty with entrenched interest in the national economy and the entertainment world. The Governor and his family are in reality one of the biggest insurance and magnet for investors;
To the diaspora population, my charge is to make hay while the sun shines. Rush to Osun to take a piece of the pie;
To the global investment community, Osun is a goldmine that has more than gold. As a globally traveled serial entrepreneur myself, Osun represents the first choice. No investor will regret putting his money into such a potentially buoyant state economy.

Expect Bombshell from White Paper Implementation Committee on Contract Awards - Adeleke's Spokesperson
Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed has doubled down on his indictment of top officials of the former administration on contract award infractions, saying the public should expect bombshells from the Kolapo Alimi led white paper Implementation Committee.
Speaking on Rave FM. Frank Talk this morning, Mallam Rasheed who asserted that the Governor's Chief of Staff neither violated the law nor breached ethical code, said many former APC state officials took contracts for companies on which they still serve as directors while in government.
According to the Spokesperson, Osun people will be shocked by the time the White Paper Implementation Committee rolled out the names of Commissioners, Special Advisers and top officials of the Oyetola administration who breached the procurement laws and violated various ethical question.
Mallam Rasheed said the indicted officials not only got the jobs for the companies on which they are directors but also participated in the decision making process for the award of the jobs.
He said forensic investigation has unveiled the actual directors of the companies which confirmed the report of the original contract review committee that top Commissioners got juicy contracts for their companies.
Calling on the public to compare the two scenarios, Rasheed said the Chief of Staff resigned from the alleged company before he assumed office as Chief of Staff and was never part of the Contract decision making process of TETFUND and Osun State University, thereby fulfilling both legal and ethical preconditions as required by the Procurement laws.
For the APC scenario, their officials remained as directors while serving the state, awarded the contracts to themselves and also sat at meetings where award decisions were taken, he stated on the radio station.
He noted that allegations against the Chief of Staff were designed to distract Governor Ademola Adeleke from ongoing accelerated delivery of good governance in Osun State, informing that “very soon, the public will read shocking details of how former officials abused their office in contract administration."
On why the matter is just being raised, the Spokesperson said Governor Adeleke is never in support of probing past administrations as it distracts from doing the job of service delivery, hence most review reports were downplayed to allow him focus on his own programme.
The persistence of the opposition in promoting fake news has placed a responsibility on the state government to open the can of worms on how the former administration looted the treasury through abuse of procurement laws, Mr Rasheed said on the radio stations.
“We have decided to let the cat out of the bag by letting the public read what happened on the various contracts awarded under the former administration. The White Paper committee will soon address the public”, he affirmed at the interview.

Contract Fraud: False Accusations Against Chief of Staff will not Stop Prosecution of Indicted APC Chieftains
NEWS RELEASE
OSOGBO - 08/09/2024 - Osunstate.gov.ng
The diversionary accusation against the Chief of Staff, Hon Kazeem Akinkeye will not stop the imminent prosecution of many former top officials of the Oyetola administration over infractions in contract handling in the last government, Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed has declared.
The state APC is dead scared of the conclusions of the forensic investigation of the state contract review committee and the white paper implementation committee headed by Hon Kolapo Alimi which evidentially indicted many former top officials of the last government
The state APC is probably aware that the details of the many contract frauds , the companies used in perpetrating those fraudulent schemes and their directors are already in possession of the implementation committee which is now set to move to stage of prosecution.
The detailed materials available to the committee and the reality that those top officials indicted cannot escape the long arms of the law motivated the failed strategy of the APC to malign top administration officials including the Chief of Staff, Hon Kazeem Akinleye.
Unknown to the opposition, the implementation committee has secured incontrovertible evidence of contract scam against former state officials under the last government and no amount of fake news will stop the imminent prosecution to retrieve looted state resources.
The contacts in questions cover roads and the $20 million dollar health centers rehabilitation projects for which so many infractions were uncovered from serial breach of procurement process to usage of several companies on which Oyetola's top officials were directors.
The implementation committee under a deep sighted Barrister, Kolapo Alimi will soon swing into action to enforce accountability on behalf of Osun people from those who actually abused their office to loot state resources.
We posit that no amount of falsehood, baseless allegations and outright fake news will deter the administration from pursuing public interest to a logical conclusion as all material evidence confirm that Hon Akinleye has not violated any provisions of the Code of Conduct, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the ICPC or any other extant laws for that matter.
As a public officer, the Chief of Staff has not deployed his office to, in whatever ways, favor himself especially as he is neither a member of the governing board of Osun State University nor a member of the board of directors of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
Specifically too, Hon Akinleye had effectively ceased to be a director of the mentioned company ever before his appointment as the Chief of Staff and so cannot in any way be held accountable for the business operations of the said company.
The Chief of Staff has never sat at any meeting or board deliberation where such a contract was determined and is therefore by all accounts not in breach of any provisions of any subsisting laws of the land.
While urging the public to discountenance the failed men of yesterday, we restate the commitment of the administration to upholding and enforcing due process, best practices and procurement laws.
Signed:
Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to the State Governor.
