We alert the public to fake news about an alleged forceful takeover of local government funds by the state government. There is no iota of truth in the report and it is simply the thinking of frustrated opposition.
As the Commissioner for Local Government, I can confirm that there was no meeting with Heads of Local Government Administration. There was nothing like an MOU on the local government fund.
The local governments are implementing their projects without let or hindrance.We urge the public to discountenance the fake news.
