Governor Adeleke Inspects Sabotaged Section of LAMECO Bridge Area, Condemns Anti-Development Politics

Governor Adeleke Inspects Sabotaged Section of LAMECO Bridge Area, Condemns Anti-Development Politics

OSOGBO- 24/07/2026 - Osunstate.gov.ng

Governor Ademola Adeleke, this evening inspected the sabotaged section of LAMECO bridge area at Osogbo and condemned the incident and similar reported case on Lagere flyover, berating politicians sponsoring vandalisation of public infrastructures.

The governor who took briefing from engineers from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure expressed sadness that some politicians can sabotage a public infrastructure in their quest to blackmail the government, noting that “This is no longer politics.

“Election is about the people voting for the leaders of their choice. Our job as politicians is to market our plans and records. Why would any genuine politician arrange to destroy a beautiful edifice like the Lameco bridge because of an election? That conduct is a hate crime against the people of Osun state.

“It is so immoral that Osun APC is not even ashamed of its masterminding such sabotage. I call on politicians to play the politics of development. These infrastructures were built with public funds. Why should we endanger the lives of our people and waste public resources simply because of elections?”, the governor wondered.

Governor Adeleke who commended the engineers from the Ministry of Works for their prompt action further directed immediate security surveillance on all major public infrastructures in the state.

“I hereby direct immediate surveillance and monitoring of key infrastructures. We must secure public assets in the best interest of the state and her residents”, the governor was quoted as saying.

The state Government is using this medium to clarify that, at no time did the state government dissolved the Executives of the NURTW at all levels, what the security council directive is all about is to suspend all activities of the union in all our parks pending the restoration of peace in all the parks.

The Governor stated yesterday that the parks are not closed and should not be closed.

We need to reinstate that, the Alowonle led executives is the only recognized leadership of the Osun state NURTW both by the National leadership of the union and by the Osun state Government.

The Osun state Governor hereby directs all our security agents to flush out Asiri Eniba and his gang from all our motor parks without further delay as he has no legal basis to be there in all ramifications.

REJECT MONETARY INDUCEMENTS FOR YOUR VOTERS CARDS - GOV ADELEKE TO OSUN VOTERS

REJECT MONETARY INDUCEMENTS FOR YOUR VOTERS CARDS - GOV ADELEKE TO OSUN VOTERS

● WARNS AGAINST COMPROMISING VOTERS REGISTERS

OSOGBO - 09/07/2026 - Osunstate.gov.ng

Governor Ademola Adeleke has raised alarm over an ongoing coordinated, illegal operation by the Osun APC to buy up voters’ voting cards and extract pin numbers from the cards to disenfranchise voters on August 15.

In a statement on Thursday morning, the governor warned against what he called illegal and anti-democratic activities that are targeted at compromising the voters registers, electronically disenfranchising voters and manipulating the outcome of August 15 polls, calling the attention of the electoral commission to the untoward development.

Citing multiple reports from across the 30 local governments and Area Office, the governor accused the Osun APC and its agents of monetarily inducing the public to part with their voters’ cards with intent to disenfranchise such voters and warned members of the public to protect and never part with their voters cards.

The state governor noted further that APC agents are extracting the pin numbers on the voters cards through offering of monetary rewards and warned that the operation is targeting local governments with huge followership of the Accord Party.

The plot is to ensure massive dislocation of registered voters from their place of registration such as from one town to the other and thereby making it impossible for such voters to vote on the day of election

In some other local governments, the APC agents insisted on the voters swearing an oath to take inducement to secure the pin numbers or a photocopy of the voters cards, charging voters not to fall for an evil plot to deny them their voting rights.

The governor who described the development as criminal practices and a breach of the provisions of the electoral act called on the electoral commission to wade into the matter as reports point to an insider collusion in the APC operations.

“I task the electoral body not to look the other way. We have reports of insider collusion which we are still investigating. Any link between the pin numbers on the voters card and manipulations of the voting process is a source of concern for us. We trust the electoral body to act.

“My dear people of Osun state, don't sell your voters cards; your cards are your power to vote and elect your leaders on August 15 and beyond. Osun APC wants to stop you from voting. Don't submit your cards”, the governor was quoted as saying in the statement.
