EJIGBO HOSTS ACTION-PACKED ADEORIOKIN'S ARTISANS FOOTBALL FINAL IN HONOUR OF DR. RICHARD ÌDÒWÚ.



Ejigbo was alive with excitement, as the grand finale of the 3rd Annual Adeoriokin Artisans Football Competition took place at EBHS Field. The much-anticipated match saw the Federation of Tailors emerge victorious over Lecan Electricians in a thrilling contest that captivated spectators.

The competition, held in memory of the late Dr. Richard Adekola Idowu, brought together artisans and football enthusiasts from all corners of Ejigbo. Dignitaries from across Osun State graced the occasion, adding prestige to the event. Representing Governor Ademola Adeleke was the Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Hon. George Alabi as the chairman of the day, while Ejigbo’s representative in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olujinmi Asagade, was also present to honor the late Dr. Idowu.

Among the esteemed guests were the Chief Imam of Ejigbo, Baba Keke of Ede land, Ejigbo Local Government traditional rulers, Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and PDP chairmanship candidates from Ede North, South,Ejigbo and councillors, who are vying for seats in the forthcoming local government elections. Their presence pointed out the significance of the event, highlighting the unity and spirit of development that sports can foster.

The competition was not just about football; it was a celebration of community, teamwork, and the legacy of a man who dedicated his life to service. The people of Ejigbo witnessed an electrifying display of skill and passion on the field, leaving them with cherished memories of this year’s edition.

Builder Tegbe, the event's organizer, expressed gratitude to all participants and guests, reassuring the commitment to sustaining the tournament in future editions. As the night ended with celebrations, the Federation of Tailors basked in their well-earned victory, while the entire Ejigbo community looked forward to another successful edition next year.
