NANS Osun Axis Urges Members to Prioritize Safety Amid Looming Crises

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS JOINT CAMPUS COUNCIL OSUN AXIS

16/02/2025

*NANS osun axis urges members to prioritize safety amid looming crises*

We have meticulously scrutinized the intricate political landscape and atmosphere of our beloved State, noting how political actors from both parties are fervently pushing narratives. However, as stalwart stakeholders in the State and as the apex students' body, we cannot remain passive and allow the serene existence of our State to be egregiously jeopardized. Ultimately, we cannot remain idle and watch as the interests of our members, their security, and welfare are flagrantly compromised.

Sequel to our release dated 13 of this month on this matter, we reiterate our undiluted stance in solidarity with the Osun people, the OSSIEC, and urge the good people of Osun to liberate themselves from the shackles of captivity imposed by APC's duplicitous propaganda. This propaganda falsely claims that the appeal judgment reinstated the sacked local government chairmen and councillors, despite the two competent courts' explicit rulings to the contrary. In this accord, we wholeheartedly support the conduct of local government elections slated for February 22, 2025.

We, however, in light of the looming crises and the ominous threat of security breaches by APC, advise all our members currently working as IT, Siwes, and practicum students in Osun local governments to steer clear of Secretariats and abstain from work until they are assured that peace has been restored to the local governments.

We seize this opportunity to caution the political party planning to unleash mayhem in our State to desist from their nefarious plans. The masses of Osun will employ all legitimate means to reject the illegality they are concocting. We further reaffirm that our paramount priority and interest lie with our students' welfare, and we will spare no effort to safeguard their interests

In solidarity and special regards, Com.Afolabi Faruq O. PKA: COSTA Chairman 08139727819
