In a major move to boost economic resilience and improve access to basic healthcare at the grassroots level, Hon. Abdul-Jeleel Samakin, the Senior Special Assistant to Osun State Governor on Media Monitoring, has announced the launch of a multi-dimensional empowerment initiative for residents of Ayedade Local Government Area.
Speaking to our correspondent in Ayedade, Hon. Samakin, who also doubles as the Director of Youth and Women Mobilization for the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Distinguished Senator Olalere Oyewumi disclosed that the initiative will offer financial support for small business owners, engage youths through development-focused activities, and provide medical outreach for underserved communities.
Comrade Samakin, popularly known as Oriwo, the son of the former PDP Chairman in Ayedade Local Government, emphasized the need to directly impact the lives of constituents through sustainable and inclusive programs.
“This is about giving back to the people and standing with those who are working hard every day to make ends meet. We are not only providing business support but also creating platforms for youth engagement and ensuring access to essential health services,” he said.
According to him, the first phase of the business support scheme will commence on July 4th, 2025, and will cover all polling units in Ward 6 of Ayedade Local Government.
Interestingly, Hon. Samakin revealed that although the program is starting with Ward 6, beneficiaries from Ward 5 and Ward 8 have also been shortlisted for inclusion in the current phase. He advised all selected beneficiaries to contact their respective ward chairmen and program coordinators to verify and confirm their details ahead of the distribution.
“We are calling on party leaders, stakeholders, and community members to rally behind this effort. With collective support, we can ensure this initiative reaches those who need it most and lays the foundation for broader community development,” Comrade Samakin added.
